One of Mr. Peurifoy’s special talents is his ability to reduce complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand terms and apply them to daily life. His first book, Anxiety, Phobias and Panic has been selected from among a host of others on the market by major self-help groups and clinics addressing anxiety-related problems as the basis for their programs. His work with anxiety disorders led The Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA), the nation’s primary organization for anxiety-related problems, to invite Mr. Peurifoy to speak at eleven of their national conferences. Over the years, Mr. Peurifoy also has a wide range of experience in front of groups as well as extensive experience with radio and T.V. His warmth and comfortable manner generate a strong rapport with audiences. Mr. Peurifoy has written four books and his excitement over sharing what God has shown him over the years is genuinely contagious.
Mr. Peurifoy’s academic background includes a B.A. in biology with minors in chemistry and mathematics that were earned from the California State University at Sacramento, 1973. He then earned a Standard California Secondary Teaching Credential and taught at the secondary level for five years both in Japan and the U.S. before returning to school to earn an M.A. in counseling from the University of San Francisco in 1981. At that time, Mr. Peurifoy began a twenty year journey in private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in Anxiety Disorders and Trauma. In 2000, he left private practice to teach at a local college and write.
